The night air was quiet, peaceful and serene, the ankle tall grass undisturbed except by the gentle, cool kiss from the spring winds pushing the moist blades to and fro. Animals slept except for those in the nocturnal family. A fox scurries through the grass, bring a gentle rustling to sing into the soft air currents.
Joining into this quiet tune had entered another sound, a new sound rarely heard by the creature. The quiet melody of a piccolo began to sing a mystical song as it drew closer. The fox paused in its dash, poking its furry red head up to look above the sea of green for the source of his new noise, which brought one ear to twitch. Soon its beady black orbs spied the source of this new sound, a creature on two legs wearing a dress of pale blue, a human. It was rare for those creatures to venture out away from their cluster of wooden and metal homes.
The adorable beast lowered down into the grass, scurrying on its way as it listened to the tune floating through the air, like it was a haunting ghost seeking an eternal rest. The female human a young woman in her early twenties, stepped carefully barefoot through the field of dew covered grass. She did not mind feeling the moisture or dirt against her flesh, in fact it felt refreshing to her. Her soft, pale colored hair that looked as if it had been stained by moonlight fell to hang just past her shoulder blades. Her eyes were a vibrate blue, as lively and deep as the oceans themselves.
Each step was careful and smooth so the melody would remain fluid, and not broken up. Soon the tune began to increase in tempo and as it did so did her steps. Her once slow footfalls increased in speed, her body began twisting and turning with each advancing step of her form. With her body turning a circle the wind caught her pale locks, brushing them over her delicate and smooth flesh of her face and neck. The young woman's eyes closed as she let the music guide her feet in this dance, stirring up lightning bugs to dot and kiss the sky of black, and ground of green.
Under the moon's cold gaze and audience of twinkling stars she let her solo performance continue, gracefully working her feet around and over the fox who had halted when she had neared too close. As her body began to separate with distance from the animal its head rose, staring in awe at the magical sight. The human creature twirling among the floating lights of nature while playing that haunting tune, the moonlight acting like a spotlight on her bare arms and showing skin, giving depth like a flowing river to her knee length dress as it flowed out while following her every move. It seemed surreal to the fluffy animal.
Gradually the music began to slow as did her dance, the song coming to a close as her body began to lower. She crossed the right leg behind the left, bending at her knees like one would to curtsy to a gentleman. Lowering her head she allowed her loose hair to frame and hide her youthful face. Removing the short instrument from her soft pale lips she willed her beautiful eyes open. She stayed in the lowered position for a few moments before standing straight, uncrossing her legs and took her leave with a kind smile on her face.
The fox watched confused, baffled about what had brought the human a mile or more from her home. The creature tilted its fluffy red head to the side for a brief moment before shaking it, pushing the thoughts of wonder from its mind. The animal then took its own leave, deciding to head home and scourge for food when the sun would be up, not wishing to see any more weird humans out so late at night.
